Summary A silent film from 1926, Belvidere's Hero tells the story of a misunderstanding between Mr. and Mrs. Henpeck, which leads to a high-stakes chase around Belvidere. A reporter with an eye for drama turns the story into front page news. Meanwhile, the new girl in town becomes the apple of every young man's eye. Filmed in Belvidere, Illinois in 1926 and starring Belvidere residents, this film is an entertaining story and a wonderful way to glimpse part of Belvidere's past. The film also features a seven-minute opening introduction of the history behind the film, as well as a featurette from 1929 of the dedication ceremonies for the bridge over State Street in Belvidere. Starring: Fred Gilman, Charlotte Allason, Darlene Brainard, Bob Goodrich, Ilo Emerson, and Gene Hawk.
